Need a diagram for an AC clutch.
I know this site is all about skis but I asked on a few car sites and all they tell me is to go to a dealer.
"Fornicate" that I say, why pay some schmuck when I can fix it my self.
What I need is a diagram of the GM V5 compressor and clutch or some pictures of what the parts look like when it's all apart. (electromagnetic coil, pulley, bearing, hub,...). This is a standard GM clutch used and most of their vehicles.
The pulley bearing was rooted on my beast Caddy but the front seal held and no refrigerant was lost so there is a chance that the comp will be happy for a long time.
When the bearing failed it baked it self onto the compressor and I did have to pound it off(yes, I removed the retaining clip before I used force), when it finally came off it took with it a bit more than it should.
Part of the piece that the bearing slides on to (from the groove where the retaining clip sits) came off but I can see another clip deeper in. I'm hoping that the bit that broke off isn't a part of the compressor, I hope that it's a part of the electromagnetic coil that is held in by the retaining clip I can see deeper .
As you can see , I'm kind of lost and a picture would be of great help or else I'll just keep taking things off until I destroy the compressor.
Thanks guys for putting up with the rantings of a Polak but where else can I turn to in times of need ?

I wish I could get a picture of what I am talking about but it's mighty tight in there and I can't get my camera in there to snap a picture.
If I had a diagram I would be more able to explain because I would know what I am talking about.
Never played with an AC clutch so I'm trying not to destroy too much. Right now I have the hub and pulley off but I think the electromagnetic coil has to go as well.

Damn, my fax is out of action since my last Windows melt down and for the life of me I don't remember the works fax number.
Any way you could email it to me ???
I'll try to get a fax number for tomorrow.
My friends AC compressor just blew out the front seal (02 Suburban). If it has the same clutch I'll take his and put my junk one onto his compressor. Since he will be getting a re-man it wont matter that it's toast.
