Which model R&D plate/grate is this ?
I just got a used plate/grate setup for my GPR12
Is this the new 1200 R&D plate ? or the old one ? and which grate is this ?

that looks like a modifed grate. wings cut back. i think hopatcong tested onme like that and it was very dangerous. the plate looks just like mine which has been on my ski since 01

Those wings are cut down on the back side SMW. Is that what Hop tested?

i am almost positive it was something like that. it was awhile ago but i remember him explaining what he did to it and i think its identical.

So, what were the results of the testing on the grate ? I haven't mounted yet.
Also ,what changed on the R&D plate in 2003 that made it better ? can it be accomplished with a bridgeport ?

Form what I hear most people prefer the old style plate.
I would'nt want that grate on my ski, but it could be the best thing going and I wouldn't know it.

Ive ridden standups for 19 years. Just picked up a GPR for the wide to ride and to play with. Basically after a few years of reading posts and listening to the Superstock GPR's I knew I needed one. I would of rather gone 4-stroke.. but for a few grand a like new GPR is fine.
I will buy the 4-stroke standup next year if Yamaha does it.
I will try to test this grate. I have a couple like this I like for racing my SXR. they hook good in turns.

For my "wife" to ride to keep me up to pace on my Superstock SXR

maybe it was the speeds hop was running that made it dangerous.

My ski has a Riva rideplate that looks identical to the one you have on the picture.
