96 SLT700 Chip and crack repair..?

I just bought a 96 SLT700 and i am going to paint it but first i need to repair the chips and cracks in the hull. It has some hairline cracks and some dime size chips through the gel coat. What is the best way to fix these? Can i use Bondo-glass on the small chips? Or will Fiberglass Resin work? How do i go about repairing the cracks?

    -Thanks

ive had best luck with cracks by opening them up slightly with a die grinder or even a file edge, then applying a thin coat of
marine epoxy (slower father than faster set) to the crack. now the time saver: take a strip or 2 of clear packing tape and tape over the repair. you can see the repair and be sure it completly filled and it cuts down on final finish sanding etc. dont be impatant pulling off the tape, it will take longer than advertised to set/cure since its covered.
same can be done with small dings not thru the fabric just sand /feather the edges of the ding before filling and tapeing. bigger repair require adding glass and more finish work.
check your ski, hull material and top deck may be different and require different repair material (epoxy).
    good luck/cheers

Those won't bond to the smc as well as epoxy resin will.

I say +1 on the epoxy resin.

That is correct the 1996 SLT is fiberglass..Bondo-glass will work fine just prep the surface for the small stuff just use resin and some chopped glass.
