    Need to repitch prop

I need to shave off some RPM's. I got three options.

    1. Repitch myself
    2. Send it out
    3. Buy a new one and sell the old

If I send it out how much? How much down time? Or if I buy a new one how much? and how much could I sell my old one for?

Since you know where your RPMs are now I would suggest to re pitch it. I had mine repitched from Jim at Jim's Performance and am happy with the results. Depending on you location you can have him do it, Impros, or I think Jerry in the online store can repitch it rather than buying another one and starting over. I know there are others out there that will do it too. Send them your details and how many RPM you want to drop and they will re pitch accordingly. Most cases 1 degree equals 100 RPM. Typically takes couple days for them to do it + the time for shipping.

It is not difficult to do if you have a impeller tool, vise, ruler and a large adjustable wrench.
Here is some really good info on the subject also,

I think I want to send it out to have it repitched. It cooled off just a bit today and its laying on 8200. I dont mind making small tweeks but I want to get it close first. Could I swing a 15/20? I'm running the 14/19 that comes with the Riva stage 1.

The one that comes with Riva stage 1 is a 14/17. The one that comes with the stage 2 is a 13/19. Thats what I am running in mine and is just right tops out at 8120 RPM with the 82mm ring. Originally it was set to an 18 so I had to have it trued to be an actuall 19 on the tall side.

hes got a rxp so the stage 1 is 14/19. I would just repitch your 14/19 or put a reduciton nozzle to adjust your rpms in. I think you will need more power to pull the 15/20 without taken out a butt load of pitch.

you can do it. You dont need much added, i would say .5mm but every ski reacts different per environment. You will be surprised what a .5mm will do to your rpms.
