    rd plate problems

    ok on my quest to break 70 i got a rd plate for my 1300
    i decited to try a little test before i sent it to jim
    1st problem was a spinning hull insert
    ok tear the back of ski apart for some vice grip removal
    2nd problem broken bolt
    got it out with some heat and again vice grips
    3rd problem
    plate hits pump and speedo wheel
    ahh
    man i was pissed thurs night
    so i just put it all back togather stock
    i feel better now that i vented a little
    whats the cure for the pump /plate prob?

    You need to grind the pump for clearance.

    no grinding till the plates cut.you said it was going to jim, so its stock now ??

    you need to buy a R&D strainer plate,its thinner than stock and allows you to bolt up the speedeo wheel

    i have 1 stock rd plate prob 1200 plate
    1 stock riva plate deff 1200 plate
    1 oem plate 1300
    i want to retain the oem dreamometer
    yes i am planning on sending to jim for modding
    just wanted to do a before/after test

    oh yea its a 03 1300 w ho pump/riva venturi
    i think your prob could be the 1200 plate is made for a ski with no 2 inch spacer...and may need a pocket cut out of it to allow fitment to your 1300r..
    i would send it off to jim and not bother testing it as he will machine the pocket in to fit your ski..

    went riding today w oem plate
    ski turns 6990 rpm w 14-20 dynafly and that was full tank of fuel and my 11 year old on the back
    motor is all stock for now - the cat
    any idea on speed?
