What is the best way to remove the fuel selector switch

What is the best way to remove the fuel selector switch, I never used it and it is now frozen on the reserve position .
I would like to run the fuel line directly to the fuel separator. And then to the carbs.

How do I close the main line on the fuel tank? And only use the reserve?

Get a couple rubber 5/16" caps at your local parts store...they make them as vacuum plugs. Clamp on your barb at the switch you removed from the RES location. Hook the line to your strainer, trace this line back to the selector and remove from there. Cap this barb too, to allow the "ON" line to stay sealed and pressurize the fuel system.

That's the easy way, but pulling the seat and doing it straight of the fuel pickup is the best way.
