    Is this turbo suitable?

Well guys i have decided to go turbo as i want a good fast rec reliable ski and get away from these damn superchargers.

Anyways the turbo i have got is a Ball Bearing GT2560 and here are the specs. Ideally i want to run about 15 PSI everyday and have a real good holeshot and have top speed around 80 MPH.

What do you think of these specs?

Oh and i will also be runnning the stock ECU running either 42's or 50's with a RRFPR so the revs will be at 8100 RPM.

    Thanks

That turbo is basically a GT28R but in a smaller package. I wonder if you can get it with the RS compressor wheel. . .

I think that turbo will get you to 80 mph, but it's a tad small for my taste. You'll be running at the far right of the compressor map, so the efficiency won't be great. The compressor is essentially the same one I'm using, so clearly you can do 80 mph with it. However, with the low efficiency and small turbine, exhaust pressure will be higher than it needs to be. This means it takes more boost to get your power goals. The up side is that it will spool VERY quickly.

heat is already a problem. Running high on the map the air is way way hotter. Do whatever the guys who been there done that tell you to do and you won't go wrong.

run the a/r those guys do also.

dav, folks have successfully run anywhere from T3 60's (like me) and G28R's, which are both on the small/quick-spooling end, on up to GT3082's, which are quite large. They all seem to work reasonably well, with pro's and con's to each.

One guy did try a GT2554, which did turn out to be undersized and max'd out at 15 psi. Also, I believe anything larger than a GT3076 doesn't gain you anything except lag. Everything in between, though, will work.

Hye mike how much boost did it take to hit 80 MPH on your turbo setup?

I have no need to go over 80MPH but i want the quickest possible time to get to 80 MPH.

Do you think im wasting my time using this turbo?

I'm not an expert but it would seem the turbo you are considering is more a rec/drag than a pure drag racing set up for the 4-tec.

    11-13 psi, depending on weather.

read the above... go with whatever mike advises. He's got it down pat.

do you have the rest of the setup? Hydrojunkie is about to offer a fully jacketed kit on the online store...

Yeah dav i got the rest of it sorted. Im purely after accelaration and top speed of about 80 MPH. Im not in to drag racing as there is no flat water around here.

    What do you think mike?

    Give it a go?
