    Welcome to the Hulk!

Sounds like the crank case reeds in one or more of the intakes are broken, and allowing compression to blow back up the air intakes.

The 2-stroke oil injection system feeds oil into the air intakes near the throttle plates, and that oil is getting blown upwards, instead of the normal air flow direction down into the engine.

If you have not done so already, download the MSX 140 Service Manual from here.

Before you do pull it apart, start the engine with the flame arrestor and cover removed. Do NOT lean over the intakes, and start the engine. Watch for a few seconds, see if you can determine which intake is blowing back up the intake.

Shut down the engine, max 10 seconds run time without water cooling.

Then remove the throttle body assembly and intakes, so you can get to the reeds, which are mounted at the base of the intakes into the engine crank case.

Once you get the reeds out, I expect that inspection will show one or more are broken.

How many hours on the engine?

Thank you for your help. There is 44 hours on it. Looks like #1 had the most oil in there. I'm pulling it apart now.

I can't tell you that, but there was some discussion about the Fusion reeds here.

Did you find the broken reed piece(s)?
