    GP1200R speed problems!

So i went out on the lake last weekend, ski was running great, i was cruising at about 60 mph, and then all of the sudden my 2001 GP1200R just shut down to like 40 mph, and would not go any faster. My rpms are running at like 7,000, but the engine just doesnt sound like its turning fast at all. did compression check, 110psi across all three. My ski has 71 hrs on it. could my cat conv. be all jacked up? I mean its running like it should with no problems, it just wont get above 40 or 42. no bogging or anything, it just feels like its governed or somethin? do i need my carbs rejetted? the engine is bone stock. all i have is a 13/19 prop, riva ride plate and intake grate. I replaced the pugs and nothin, still does only 40. Any greenhulk pros have a solution for my problem, its much appreciated

If you are still running the stock cat it is very possible that it has come apart and is blocking your exhaust.

Had that happen on a sea-doo. Had the same thing happen with an older yamaha, but with a rock.

Usually results in some serious vibration though. Should be able to see it from the intake grate with a flashlight.

If you don't see anything, take the plugs out so you can spin the shaft over 180 degrees.

How does the engine sound? Usually, if the Cat-Con goes, you get a throaty deep growl..
