96 XP starting trouble-runs great
My friends 96 xp recently started having trouble strating. The starter will click and turn over and then just quit. it takes a few times for it to start. Starting on the lift is not the problem. once it gets in the water the starter turns over and stops, everything resets and you do it again. we found that we have to push or pull it through the water to get the impeller spinning so it will start easier. we have charged the battery many times and this problem still arises. Could there be a bad spot in the starter? if you have any idea, pleaseeeeeeee...thanks

Have you verified the battey cables are good? Do you know how to use a voltmeter? It's probably the battery or cables...but you need to be proficient with a meter to diagnose correctly.

I don't think your going to spin the prop no matter how fast you tow it! (unless you have very low compression) Sound to me like your battery's weak... That's where I'd start first!
