    What is an O-ringed head?

I'll assume they use o-rings rather than gaskets?
if so, does a machine shop mill the o-ring groove and do you use a speacial high-temp o-ring for the combustion and water seals?

Is the advantage simply ease of dissasembly? or is there a performance advantage as well?

It is easier to check piston wash or change domes --no need for gaskets --regrease the orings and away you go
randy had a 785 head that he had groves cut for the orings
i am using plain old oring kit stuff cut and glue works great

    Your assumption is correct.

PSI uses them for performance applications in there heads.

I was told the combustion ring is made of Viton, and the water ring was a plain old Buna rubber.

I bought new o rings for the PSI engine if/when I ever get started on that one.

Also came on a set of PSI modified Polaris heads I bought.
