Comparison pics of venturi nozzles RXP-X,RXP,Riva

Just some pics I took to show the difference in the X-ski nozzle VS the standard RXP nozzle. I was surprised at how short the X-nozzle was. Standard RXP appears to be 85-86mm, I believe the X nozzle to be 88mm oval if I recall. I didn't have a caliper on me at the time, so these are guesstimates The last pic is the RXP nozzle over the Riva with an 83mm ring. Do they make 84-86mm venturi rings for the Riva venturi nozzle?

After comparing these, and since I'll be turning this 15/22 at 8500 rpm's I think I'm going to go with the OEM RXP nozzle, I think the 83mm may be too small, what do you guys think?

Not the best pics, I know, just took them real fast as I was leaving for work this morning.

i ran into this yesterday and my untouched 15/22 could only turn 8350 rpm's at 77.9 but my untouched 15/20 would rev to 8660 but would only go 78.4 so i was gonna try the 15/22 with a stock 86mm nozzle myself!

Well, I should have some extra ponies to turn that prop, as I should have a Piranha B-kit charger on the Widow Maker when it hits the water next or maybe haha

I'm also NOT going on any top speed runs until I add some kind of pump tunnel pressure gauge/relief. Now that I've had the pump off, and had a chance to inspect everything, I've got some good ideas on a few ways to tap it for a relief, I'll post pictures if it works.

boost, riva makes rings all the way up to 85.5 in half increments, i just ordered an 85 from my local dealer.

the X nozzle is that short because there is no other way to get a 87mm exit size at the length of the others.

    makes sense, Thanks meeper!

On a side note, has anyone done a back2back, before and after tests to see the gains from removing the bilge siphon tubes? I've got an electric bilge I was going to drop in, and remove those bailer tubes, and all that crap. having that in the way of the exit nozzle HAS to disrupt flow..

good luck because that was with a RUDE and an 82mm ring when i tested and got my base numbers but i also never held it wide open long due to not having a seat on it to watch for water leaks........i was also cautious while tuning in the A/F............ as well as the fear of not wanting to stuff it under those particular circumstances!
