    RXP-X Problems.. Head Gasket

about a month ago I noticed my RXP-x was eating colant. I figured it was a leak, so I searched and searched for it. Nothing.

I finally brought it to a jet ski mechanic to find that the spark plugs have rust, and I need a new head gasket.

The ski has 20hrs on it, and has a stage one kit on it.

Will Sea Doo warranty this.. Im very upset.

stage one is handling and intake/resonator delete right? engine hasn't been touched, I would think they would warranty that. may want to put it back to stock just in case if its not too late.

depends on the shop doing the work. If you think they will give problem, put back on the stock air. The rest is unnoticed unless you or the machanic bring it up. such as prop, grate, etc.

Before you get too upset...Check your rideplate bolts with a preasure test...some 08's have leaked around the fasteners that hold it together.

+1 I had this happen to mine. The bolts bottom out in the ride plate before they are competely tight. I got some stainless steel washers to fix it.

And then I blew my head gasket!!! It was because I got some bad gas and the Rotax ECU does not have a knock sensor.

Why would my plugs show rust?

Where was the rust on the plugs? Most plugs get some rust on them, but rarely on the electrode or strap ... but even if there was, it might be from water ingestion possibly ... hopefully it is not head gasket ...
