    Question for the machinist/parts guru

Ok, I got the fittings drilled tapped and installed. Now I have a question. Would I benefit from removing the area marked in red to get a more even cooling flow from the jug, or would this make the adapter too weak?

N/M. The back side is solid isn't it? I don't think it would help it cool more w/ them cut out. I'd leave them.

The material there also helps the gasket stay pinched to keep the water out of the cyl. Why do more work, every one out there is running that way with no problem.

I have a couple that are "plowed" about 1/8" and some that aren't. When I spoke to Joby about this, he said it made no difference either way.

Did you research the fitting location? It may interfere with the pipe if placed wrong.
