Thread: RXT tracking

for some reason my RXT feels like it wants to bow steer in light chop and feels just a bit unstable. What can I do to help improve the straight line tracking.
PS: this is the wifes ski, she feels unsafe when it does this especially in a high traffic area with alot of other boats.

I noticed your sig says "stock" for the RXT.....do you still have the OPAS on?
If so, you can remove them & put on a block off kit or block them up with some PVC. This will improve your handling especially in the rough water.

I recently added the competition opas kit (plastic sleeves) to my RXT and both myself and my buddy felt that this was a major degradation to handling. I acknowledge an improvement in mid-throttle "side to side dancing", but the turning ability at any speed, whether chop or flat water, was, IMO significantly reduced. Is this what others have experienced?
I'm thinking of trying the blockoffs......can I expect something similar to using the opas block"up" kit or is the handling significantly different - specifically on an RXT?

I removed my OPAS from my RXT-X and think it made a 100% improvement in the way it handles at all speeds. Besides, that is for people who are new to the water, so they should not even have a RXT anything. Just my opinion....

Skegs, wedge and PVC block ups.

would the block off kit help more?
how hard are the skegs to install?

They're ALL saying it:
1. Get those damn OPAS fins off the ski, they make it very unpredictable at speed.
2. To help reduce the 'drifting' at speed, get a set of SKEGS.
3. Add a wedge to lift the nose up a little and push the tail down.
