    Question about bilge pump

    Hello everyone,

I have a 96 SL 900, my question is how or when does the bilge pump work? My other skis have a switch to turn it on.
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
It should run when the engine runs. Its fed from the orange wire on the regulator. There is a 3 amp fuse for the pump in the elect box.

Ok thanks for info, doesn't sound like a good thing for that pump to run all the time, think i may remedy that with a switch.

My sl780 runs the pump all the time when the engine runs. Its not not a problem to be setup like that. Thats the way the engineers thought it should be. Why change it?

I like to be able to turn the bilge on when the motor is not running. What if you are out on the water and the motor dies an you are talking on water. I have the bilge on the Yamaha switched of the tether.

Ideally, it should run with the engine on and have a switch for when the engine is off. ONLY the rule pumps are rated to run dry. that's why they are oem.
