Sorry guys, my friends a newb and still hasnt got the whole "forums" thing down yet. Give him some time and he will work out the kinks... but basically we need his ski running good asap! He is cavitating horribly and his impeller/housing arent picking up causing him to spin his impeller and not get anywhere when he takes off.
He also uses tcw-3 outboard oil for his ski and it tends to smoke A LOT when he is idling... and his ski smells of gas. It is like it is running way to rich. All he did was rebuild the carbs stock and never touched any of the settings, so i have no idea why he would be running so rich and oily!
Despite that the ski runs great... but we would also like to do some cheap used mods to it to get it closer to 60 without having to Rejet. http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=69741
Any suggestions would be great. Feel free to send a pm with anything you have.

Jims plate will be the best thing you could do for that ski... Its going to be your biggest gain you can get for that ski...

gpr 800 ride plate question?
i just tried to take the ride plate off my ski and the bolts are loose but are not coming out at all. how do i get them out and why are they doing this. im looking to replace it with a aftermaket plate and a intake grate as well so if u have in good condition let me know.

You inserts are spinning inside the hull. You need to pull the battery box to get at them.

i puller the battery box and i still cant get at them they are two far in to reach. can i drill them out and put in new inserts?

Remove waterbox.Remove exhaust 90* elbow on right side.Get visegrips on the insert to keep from turning and take the plate bolts out.Use a heat gun on the factory glue and pry the inserts out.Replace with new style inserts and use 5200 3M to install them.Use a mask when heating the glue up,it sends off vapors you dont need in your lungs.
