I'm trying to pull the pump housing off my 96xp I have the nozzle off and nuts off the housing. I was pulling my ass off it's either the caulk holding it on or is their something on the shaft I have to unhook. I got a new impeller and wear ring i'm trying to put on I have the impeller tool, Should I just keep pulling is their any trick to this?

If the pump has never been off it can stick pretty good. You also need to pull back the carbone ring and unseat the oring on the driveshaft. There are 4 nuts holding it to the hull and 3 water lines u have to take off from inside the hull. I have seen in the manual some sort of puller that can be made.

did you get the lines off the inside of the hull? there are three. on is the water line for the head and the others are the bailer tubes. and a lot of wiggling!

Yeah I think its the first time off has that black caulk on it those hoses have to be pulled by a puller though? That sucks if anyone knows a way to get them off without another tool to buy please tell.

You dont need a puller for the hoses. I was talking about the whole pump. Get those 3 hoses off and unseat the oring on the driveshaft and it should come out.

Those pumps are glued like crazy to the hull... Good luck without a puller!!!

Took me an hour or so. And a bunch of McGyvering with stuff around the garage. It'll come off. Just take your time. And try not to get too frustrated.

I usually use a seal puller and work the hook under each tab of the jet pump, then pry on each tab,it will usually come off that way in a few minutes
