    Gp1200r 14/20 Impeller Question

Hey guys hows it going. I am thinking about installing a 14/20 impeller but would like your suggestions.

Currently my ski is a full stage 2 riva setup on top of Marks RPM Mod Carbs with a brand new 13/19 solas concord.

I have an extra 14/20 solas concord sitting in my garage and would like to know if you guys think my ski would be able to push this impeller.

I need some more speed and i think the 13/19 is limiting me?

    Thanks for your suggestions. Doug.

    Update on mods:

    R&D Ride plate
    R&D Intake Grate
    R&D D-Plate
    R&D Pump Seal Kit
    R&D Power Pentum Flame Arrestor
    Riva Free Flow Exhaust
    Riva Boysen Reed Stuffers
    Riva Rec Head (145-150)
Solas Concord 13/19 pitch impeller (brand new, tight fit)
Marks RPM Mods Carbs.. fully modded, bored, and jetted

From messing around with the gps and other ski's... i assume i am somewhere around the 65-67mph range without the head... it is on the way and i will be getting it by monday/tuesday. (Carl says these 13/19's top out at about 68mph.)

Need more speed... would i be able to push the 14/20.

problem is a dont have a tach /Doh! i know i should really have one...

But right now without the head (its coming) my ski is running anywhere from 7000 flat to one notch about (which i think is 7200) on the ski's tachometer.

Also note that my ski is running a little rich right now... so im sure if i leaned it out a bit i would gain some more rpm's. But im waiting for my head to see if it will set itself right with the little extra fuel you need for the extra compression.

You need a tach - every ski is different.

i understand i dont have one, but i was just trying to get a ballpark guesstimate to whether or not you could possibly run a 14/20 with the mods i have... or if anyone has done it etc.. whether if it is even worth trying

Well you could try it but I can tell you I wouldnt put any mods on my ski without knowing. If you are crusiing around @ 6700 rpm's with that 14/20 you could do some major damage (detonation).

with a stock ignition on your ski i would guess you would be in the 6900-6950 with a 14/20

bases on my jump boat prop saga..but its still a guess
