Thread: Problem

    Problem

Back when i had my ski painted it tried to take off the tow hook on the front of the ski. Well, i didnt heat up the bolt and the instert started spining. I ended up putting an epoxy on it and shoving it back in and just left it. It was only a quick fix and i'm just wondering how do i fix it. I looked inside the ski and realized there's no access to it. What am i supposed to do? I'm pretty sure a little bit of water has also ben getting in. Any help would be grately appreciated.

hey alex, i looked in the parts catalog and there is washers and nuts inside the ski. That is what probally fell and now you can not tighten them. I removed the computer on mine to see if there is an access hole and there is not, You are probally going to have to cut one so you can get in to put the nuts in. Go to riva and look under original parts finder and go to 2004 1300r and go to hull fittings w/ sponsons and you will see them. Let me know good luck.

Yeah i tried that also. I think i will cut an access hole. The nut didn't fall off because the insert doesn't come out, it just slides back and forth about half an inch. Thanks jim i would've never thought of looking on the catalog. I think it might actually be an easy fix.

MAYBE GET A HOLE SAW AND CUT THRU THE MATERIAL UNDERNEATH THE COMPUTER. IT'S NOT THAT THICK. AND USE A LONG EXTENSION AND SOCKET. MAKE SURE THE SOCKET IS TAPED OR SOMETHING ONTO THE EXTENSION SO IT WONT FALL OFF

the best thing to use is a dremel with the a little bit. Make sure you do not cut a big hole or around the studs were the computer mounts to. You can always opoxy the piece you cut back.

Good idea, how about one of your famous illustrations lol. J/k. Thanks for the help guys, i appreciate it.

Jim, we all need to go for a ride before the year ends. I'm getting ready to order a prop from Carl, hopefully i will order it in the next couple days. Maybe we'll get together after i install it, that is if he's not salmmed with work. I haven't talked to him in a couple weeks. Give me a call sometime soon. I will get with Dave and Jeff and come up with a date.

It is not pretty but to get to some of the outer hull fittings you have to cut out the innner hull and then reseal. No fun... Suckmywake was right on.
