GPR Impeller Wear Ring
I have to replace my impeller wear ring. I'm currently using one with a platic liner.
I'm replacing it with an OEM stainless steel wear ring, but want to know if there's an aftermarket one that is better. Any recommendations?

Wasn't it made by Skat? I'd call Impros, or Island as well.

Skat replaces the stock aluminum wear ring and replaces the stock liner with a thicker one. I'm waiting for a reply from Impros.
Just wondering if the Riva liner would be better since its one solid piece without a liner, even if its heavier.
Is anybody here using the Riva one?

Don't bother with the Riva one. Get a stocker. If your problem is burning the liner, most likely at the 7 o'clock position as you stand in back of the ski, the all-stainless Riva one isn't going to help. It's just going to cost more.
Make SURE you seal the wear ring to the transom with Yamabond. I've burned a wear ring because I forgot to seal it, and I think it's because the 7 o'clock position is the thinnest point of contact with the transom. Look at it closely - I bet the burn mark is right where the small 10 mm bolt goes into the transom. It's probably not a coincidence that this is the thinnest point of contact - in other words, you're sucking air into the liner just in front of the prop, and getting cavitation burn.

Just went and got the one I took off about 3 months ago and it has the burn mark right where you said and is also warpped. Funny thing is that the plastic one I have on right now is all torn up at the same 7 o'clock spot.
I'm thinking of sending it to Skat and have them put the thicker liner on, but it sounds like its just going to happen again. Skat takes the original wear ring (the one in the picture), takes out the old liner and bores and put a much thicker one for $220.
Either way, I'm going to make sure I seal it this time with yamabond..

Come to think of it, I had a worn one, due to leaving out a dowel pin. Ate up the prop too.
