ECU is next on my list of things to do so I would like to know the pro's and con's to each also.
I'm kinda torn between the Riva or Rotax Ecu at the moment.
I was thinking of going with a Rotax Ecu because of the 8800 rev limit which needs 60lbs injectors--- little more room on revs and injectors before leaning out compared to Riva = 8600rev limit and 50lb injectors. Then the price plays a huge roll in the decision. Also with Rotax you don't have to have dealer program the ECU via buds system and warranty isn't instantly voided like when you purchase the Riva ECU. Humm... Could care less about the warranty at this point, but will have to spend $50-$100 to have a dealer reprogram the Riva ECU for my ski.
Not sure why the price difference in cost between the ECU's.
Riva = $999 then add the greenhulk coupon= -10% on Riva products=$900
Rotax = $1,650.00 no discount.
$1650-$900=$750 difference which could be used for other go fast parts.
Not sure which retards timming more or has more of an aggressive curve to it?
I really don't want to send my ECU out to have it programmed to Piranaha so that's out of the question. With both the Riva and Rotax you get a new ECU and keep the old one.

I also got a 04' RXP ECU reflashed for my X by Les. For racing if I had the money I would of just bought the autronics, but for the money getting the ECU reflashed was definitely worth it.

Enufpwr--The Rotax ECU is NOT boost sensitive--does not change fuel map---does not retard timimg when detonation is detected. One should run a rrfpr with the Rotax. Rotax is only 150 rpm more than the Riva. Might be a high price to pay for less engine safeguards using the Rotax.
The Riva is the ticket for recrational riders.
