    Fzr Video-hydrodynamics..planing And Carving

shows the new hull on plane and carving......would love to get some comments on bow lift/wet surface area/handling capability with V-hull and dihedral keel......

thx guys...lets hold the 'ugly yamaha' comments for other threads...this is a hydrodynamic evaluation of the new hull

comparison side-by-side pics (bottom and side-view) with other hulls would be great...i.e. SHO, Ultra, RXP(x), RXT(x), GPR.......and gaain....thx guys in advance

Dang that is one UGLY ski...
you know I had to do it.

Seriously, looks to me like that hull is sitting WAY up high on plane, I always liked
    the Yamaha hulls...

lol...np man....that thing is planing alot higher than i thought it would.......bonus for top-speed/drag racing and wave jumping....

and the V-hull looks like it can tackle offshore as well as a CC course....?!?

still a bit heavy but power-to-weight ratio will be increased once Bruce/Riva open this puppy up for the rest of us...

instrumentation is very cool...and that telescopic steering is impressivel....wonder if i can transplant that onto my SHO??

    hrmmmmmmmmmm.....ok...definitely growing on me

Well,Its not a Gpr with a sho motor, but it looks very promising as a starting platform that should prove its self as the gearheads find what it needs in the way of mods. Some wont like its size, but more will like the extra stability in rough water.I give it two thumbs up

Marketting videos are tough to use for comparisons, so maybe we'll see something better shortly to help with the hull attitude.

-In those vids, it's pushing a ton of water. Contact point seems to be up around the handlebars.
-I do see a slight chine hop when pushed hard. It could be a lifting of the inside strake, or maybe it's just unsettled in that shot?
-I see a slight slide in the corners too in a bunch of those shots. I think the marketting dweebs are trying to be stylistic, so I'd wait to see one actually corner with an aggressive rider first.

The steering comments make me chuckle. The first thing you'll see racers do is put UMI steering on them, regardless of the benefits of the tilt/tele steering. I really liked the tilt steering on the boats that have it.
