    01' Genesis for 2k? Thanks JD1

    Hey guys and gals,

I just wanted to let all of you know that a few weeks back I saw a thread for a 2001 Genesis for 2k. When I called and talked to him he said it had 25 hours on it and it was in great shape. I first thought that there was no way that boat could be in the shape it's in for 2k. He explained every detail of the boat (any scratches and nicks) over the phone. I hesitated but Ph020 talked me into it saying he did trust Dennis from JD1. Well, let me say that I took it out yesterday, washed it, waxed it, and ran it. IT WAS EXACTLY THE WAY JD1 DESCRIBED IT in our phone conversations!! Thank you JD1. I appreciated your help. I just wanted to acknowledge someone who we can trust to sell us good products with descriptions that match what we are going to buy. Thanks again to JD1. Damn for ph20 for making me buy that ski!!

It may just be a terrible comparison because my X has the ocean pro rideplate. There was only myself. When I was at speed the boat kept jumping out of the water and losing the pump load. There was 2 to 4 ft chop I will say. Maybe I'm just used to the X tracking through the chop instead of riding on top of it?

What intake grate do you have on the X-45?

Pump unloading in choppy water can be improved with an aftermarket intake grate.

Yeah, you're not going to stay hooked up or track like a Virage in ugly water with after market goodies. I don't remember if the R&D intake grate will fit but you could certainly modify and weld a "wing" to help shovel in the water and keep the pump loaded.
