    Please help me 01 900 stx ski!!!!!!!!

    someone please help me.. my buddies took out my ski.. ever since it came back this is what happens: drive it regularly goes only upto 40 43 mph and then afer 20 or 30 mins when warms up it lacks power almost if it wants to cut off...i changed the plugs and still same thing..calld a local dealer and checked all online and seems very common for this ski.....please someone help..thanks

    May be overheating. Try flushing out all the cooling lines.

    It's the CDI. It's a very common problem with these skis. The part is nearly $400.

    How many hours do you have on yours?

    I have a similar ski, 2001 900STX with 80+ hours. I have done everything to this to fix the problem then came to realize that it's the CDI. It regulates the pulses to the spark plug wires. Sometimes it will miss the sequence and won't fire correctly.

    I have also heard of people replacing or cutting back their spark plug wires to fix this problem. I would try this first as it is a cheaper fix.

    Have you checked the compression? Sounds like you are down a cylinder.

    Just cut them flush with a pair of side cuts. The boots have a little screw inside that will insert itself back into the core of the wire.

    Have you checked the compression?
