    Oil in anti-freeze tank

    I have a buddy with a 2003 GTX... 200 hrs. no mods... has signs of oil in the anti-freeze tank. No signs of anti-freeze in motor oil... any ideas???

    bad oil cooler, head gasket, or more likely the seal between the waterpump and oil pump.

    This ever get resolved? Im in the same situation... oil cooler is good, pulled the head and all looks ok... dunno if I should pull the water pump.... or the mag housing... or just install new head gask and hope that was it.

    Jeff, If everything else checks out good. I would definitely check the seal in the water pump.

    Never seen or heard of one going bad.

    It's seems to be your rotary seal in the water pump usually when they go bad they will let oil out into the cooling passages but still keep coolant out of the oil I've mostly only see them go bad when people go open loop and remove the pump impeller which you're not supposed to do

    I do not think it is the pump seal because when water is leaking oil / water through the hole "light" we should have these in the hull bottom.

    I see people say this all the time, but it is not possible. There is a weep hole between the two seals (coolant and oil) in the water pump, so if either seal leaks, oil or coolant will flow out the weep hole but not infiltrate the other section.

    Hello ,for me problem is oil cooler you test leater with good pressure.
