    185 or 215???

I HAVE HEARD DIFFERENT THINGS ABOUT THIS SKI. sorry for yelling.

it is an '05, GTX SC, and it hauls. I raced an RX(t-p) not sure and I wasn't far off, and mine was stock, this guy told me that he has some work done. it wasn't the new RXP,T-X, it was about the same year. and I wasn't far off, his with work.

185 or 215 HP? I was told from the start it was a 215. it sure pulls like a 215, and according to seadoo's website it is one, but someone told me it is a 185.

    please advise.

    2005 GTX SC - 185 HP
    2005 GTX SC LTD. - 215 HP
    2008 RXP-X & RXT-X - 255 HP

Maybe try searching seadoo's website for pictures that go along with the specifications so you can match the color scheme to the model in question.

it is the LTD, maybe that is why I am hearing different things.

I did search seadoo, and what I thought that I was riding was right... so I am OK saying 215. I didn't realize that there was a difference with the LTD.

so now, who wants to race? I just changed the prop to a 12/20 ~ I don't know shit about anything ~ but I know that it is quicker off the line, but doesn't have the top end, maybe 4 MPH

I never realized there was a difference. Is that why they are telling me 185, as opposed to 215?

The Limited's are the 215 hp engine.. (intercooler, forged pistons 8150 ish rev limiter, 159 mm pump)
The GTX SC (non LTD) are the 185 hp engine (no intercooler, cast pistons, 7650 ish rev limit, 155 mm pump)

The limited's have GPS, depth finder, Tilt steering, special cover, and the storage hull "bucket divider" thingy.

IF someone used a 12/20 solas impeller, then they have the
155 mm pump and it's driveshaft that is in the 185 hp boats.
The 159 mm pumps in the 215 hp boats use solas impellers like
    the 13/18, 14/19, 13/19/ 15/19, etc etc.

Not to jack the thread but is Tilt Steering when the ski tips to one side and the ski turns or the handlebars tilt up and down

Handlebars tilt up and down. Very weak setup.

Walt, there are 2 ways you can tell for sure.

    1. Look for 2 large hoses attached to the front of the intake manifold. These would be the supply/return of water to the intercooler in the 215 hp version ONLY.

    2. If you can consistently run 7900-8100 rpm, then it's definitely 215. The lower hp version limits around 7600 rpm.
