    701 Yamaha Super Jet I NEED SOME HELP

    Here is a link to the issues I am having with my superjet I bought this with no motor then bought a motor that was suppose to be in perfet order. Compression is good reeds are good carbs are good jetting is good guys looking for some of your advice.......

    Have you verified that you have a good hot spark on both plugs? It sounds like one I had a simular prob with that ended up being 1 bad plug wire, internallly bad about 2 inches out of the ign box. A bad CDI can do about the same thing, or a miss wired, or loose connection in the ign/cdi box too. The weak spark would let it idle ok, but in the water wouldn't rev, just like the rev limiter was on.

    Just looked seem to be the same


    I have the elect box out of the sit down would it work in the stand up?

    Yes, or you can just swap the cdi or coil. They are all bout as hard, cause you have to open the box up no matter what. Just be carefull that all the wires get connected good, and nothing gets pinched when you put it back together. The grounds have to be clean and tight too.

    replaced the coil and wires for a loose ground no luck still runs like crap. I did notice the CDI box is red in color with an adjuster screw. The one in the spare harness is black no adjuster screw is the red one some kind of aftermarket cdi? I am going to swap the cdi and see what happens.

    No luck with the CDI swap I think the pulsar coil is bad Its seems out of spec according to the manual.

    the red cdi is a msd enhancer
    if your staror coil is out of spec you can send it to john @ jetski solutions for repair

    yea I see its the MSD box. I gues its still good since it make any difference. The charging coil seems to be in spec. I am going to take the pulsar coil with me to work to check it with a better meter.

    send him the entire stator it will come back looking new
    he also does start stop switches
    also has fast turn around!
