Thread: Texas 500

    Cool Texas 500

If we were to throw a little race in south central Texas on short notice, how many would be interesting in the making the trip out?

Say a little 500 mile race that would include some GP classes. Course would not be a box but a larger 5 mile version of our famed SuperCourse tracks. Course marshals. With a $150-200 per person registration fee and minimum 2 persons on a team, we will provide a Texas dinner on Friday night and another Texas dinner Saturday during the awards or lunch provided during the day of the race and the dinner at the awards.

Race day would be October 25th.
Lake is already reserved if we want to do it. Welch Park at Lake Somerville Texas.

    Let me know your thoughts.

What the heck took so long.
Where do I find the entry form?
Will there be fuel on site or do we need to haul it?

All you true endurance folks start speading the word!
What will you need help with?
    Thanks

Me and Gabriel would do it. I figure I'm good for a lap or two and Gabriel can go the other 97 laps.

Just been waiting on a few items to be confirmed there Famous Friebe!!

I am waiting still on the confirmation on our fuel guy. There is a possibility that I will be able to get it around 50 cents cheaper than the going pump price if I can get the details worked out for 93 octane unleaded.

Will get you the eligible classes and rules here shortly. We do have a dedicated pit lane designed into the course like a NASCAR track. Even considering a pit crew competition.

If it doesnt pan out in attendance to make this year it will be on for sure next year. Its time for some hard core endurance racing again.

simple is better. i think you would have a bigger turn out.
one open class - run what you got, no holds bared...

id be down to run all my boats but you would have to allow a open class.

We have on the list a GP Open class to be in the event. Bring your bad boy toys and show us what you got!!! The GP guys and girls need a well deserved track to race on and here it is.

More info is coming. The course will not be a technical track like closed course or SuperCourse but will be a few left and right turns so it wont be a box. Course will be 5 miles in distance. Lots of open runs to let your skis stretch their legs.
