Need Help: Carbon Fiber Sponsons
Did you know a thinner sponson, means faster top speed? Yup. It does. However, all the aftermarket sponsons are way too thick at the water line, which eat up smooth water speed. The stock ones work pretty good for fast water boats.
Philip sold me some carbon fiber sponsons last year off his ebay store. They were basically home-built sponsons, using a Riva backing plate, and carbon fiber paddles.
My word! They work nice. They are faster than Riva sponsons, lighter, turn more precise, and don't bend out at the front, and collect weeds.
However, I haven't found a suitable CF material to make another set.
Anyone got any ideas? All we needs is to replace the paddles. That's it!
I found this company online.

Almost identical at 75mph speeds. I'll set it up again this winter, now that I've got a couple of pretty reliable platforms to work with.
The Riva test was quicker and faster since I didn't change the backing plate. Those Riva blades drag hard.
edit: tested just the blades less than a month ago. The Riva ones seem to pull left on me too.

I'll keep an eye at the lab. Our coupons are aerospace grade Graphite epoxy cured at 355° F. @ 75 psig minimum. I got talked out of my last sheet of graphite. There will be more.
That website you found appears to be a place that makes thin (1 ply) laminates to be used like decals with 3m VHB (bouble stick) adhesive. Bling factor instead of performance.

Spud, they make bling material and hard material. I saw both. I just havent called them yet to make sure.
