    Got a problem...

I just finished putting triple outlet fuel pump, new hoses, rebuilding fuel selector, cleaning and replacing parts in carbs an a 1994 SL650.

When I start the ski the mag end carb spits fuel around, the throat is wet with fuel and it looks like, at idle, the jet ports are "leaking".

That is to say fuel is dribbling out of both the low and high speed ports. I replaced the needle and seat and spring with anoth from another ski and I still have the same problem. Any ideas??

Sounds like a bad needle or seat,or the Popoff is set way to weak.

Did you inspect the reeds while you were in there? A bad reed will make the carb spit out the top.

Did you replace the O ring around the needle's seat? A leak past the O ring will cause it to leak or dribble.

Was the clear plastic check valve in good shape? If it's leaking it will cause a dribble.

And was the spring replaced with the same tension as the old one? Too low of a pressure will cause it to leak.

    Thanks--more to check

The needle/seat has been changed and the pop off pressure checked.

That is where I was surprized to see the fuel thing.

xlint--I think you hit it. When I open the throttle plates, that carb throws a mist up--like the air flow is going the wrong direction----Reeds---I gotta remember reeds are to a TWO stroke like valves are to a 4....

    Thanks--Gotta go checkit
