About to buy A Polaris PWC, What is the diffrence: 1200 Pro & 1200SLX?

Hello, I have alot of questions. I am about to purchase my first Polaris, I am not new to the PWC world but have not owned A Polaris in the past(I have owned A SeaDoo XP 951 and Kawaski ZXi1100).

I am looking at A 2001 Pro1200 and A 2001 SLX1200, they have the same hours and same price and I love the looks of both models what are the diffrences??

Also what is the diffrence between the 2000 Pro1200 and 2001 Pro1200, they look a little diffrent color wise anything else??

Where is A place I could buy parts for A Polaris Pro1200, I will possibly need A seat cover and hood for A 2000 Pro1200??

Many Thanks to all, and this place ROCKS!! I only wish the Summer wasnt coming to an end!! The~~RiZ~~

As far as the slx and pro differences....its mostly in the hull design. The pro is setup for bouey to bouey (sp?) racing, and handels very well. It'll take any turn you put it up to as long as you can hold on. The slx is the same drivetrain as the pro, however, it has a much more playful hull. The slx will still do spins and slide where the pro will not. Both are very similiar performance wise.

The Pro 1200's motor is set back 2"s further in the hull and uses a smaller gas tank also the bottoms of the hulls are totally different . What are you looking to do with it, if you plan on Modding one up i would go with the Pro 1200 and get a set of tripple pipes for it . Otherwise for rec riding and no real Mods there about equal i would take the nicer of the 2 then.

not that i'm aware of maybe the 01 has the jetworks valve and the better prop then the 00 just like the slx changes from those years but nothing drastic.

The 2001 pro has the jet works valve where the 2000 did not. The Keihin carbs had some tweaks made to the fuel circuitry including a change to the low and mid jets. The electrical system of the 2001 also had some minor changes to the timing curve. All this makes the 2001 a tad better in acceleration and the same or just maybe 0.5mph faster top end than the 2000. I would go with the 2001 if it's reasonably price wise. Just a note, another difference between the pro and slx is the jet pump...it is arranged a little differently.
