Ski falling on face at WOT

Hey - New to the board and new to PWC, so thanks up front for entertaining a newbie question.

Just bought a 99 Genesis with 105 hours. Starts fine, seems to load up a little at low speeds... have to stay on the gas or it bogs down and quits. Once it warms up, it will cruise at 51mph at about 80% throttle but whneyou go to WOT, it starts sputtering and slows down to about 45mph.

Any ideas on what I should check first?

    thanks again

    Welcome to the Green Hulk!
Is it carbed or fuel injected?

Sounds like its carb rebuild time. Your problem while idleing may be leaky carbs, and restricted internal filters at wot. Try using the choke while at wot. Also try using the choke at idle, does it improve performance?
Are the plugs good and gapped properly?

    Plugs and carbs

Plugs are new and have the right gap, so carbs look like the issue.

Have any suggestions on where to get rebuilt kits for the carbs?

thanks very much for the help

I believe John Zigler (member here-same screen name) has them.
www.watcon.com or www.atlanticpowersports.com will have them.

Just for chits and grins check the engines compression before going further.

Check fuel filters before you do anything.
