    What RPM's should I be hitting on my XLT?

    2001 XLT, ~140hrs, 115,112,110 psi...

    D-plate, wave eater clips and couplers, r&d plate (stock), SS ring, 5deg nozzle, solas 12/18, R&D intake....

    What RPM's and/or speeds should I be getting? 280lb rider, 3/4 tank of fuel.

    7000 to 7100 rpm's

    That's what I was thinking (worried about). I'm only getting 6800...

    I'll probably rebuild the carbs... with those mods I can leave all the jetting and everything the same, right?

    unless you do engine mods you dont have to touch the jetting. The D plate isn't really an engine mod so to speak so Yes leave the jetting the same!
    Check your power valves also make sure the are operating all the way. Do a search on them

    yeah... the PV's are opening all the way.

    I also took them all apart and cleaned them when I put the clips on ~8 months ago...

    Does that put you into detonation zone I wonder?

    Is that 6800 on the stock tach?

    Tiny Tach commercial...

    6844 was max rpm.
