    1992 SL 650 again!

My manual shows on the drive train bearing housing a grease fitting. My ski has a tapered fitting here with a plastic hose with a cap on the end. I see nothing in the shop manual for this. Is this in there instead of the grease fitting? Should I fill this with oil and leave it as is? What kind of oil should go in it if not replaced with a grease fitting. Thanks for all the help!

Can ya post a pic of it?
I think I would remove that and install a zerk fitting. Then use a good marine waterproof grease.

Thanks, I got a little more info, Babbitts microfiche has a picture of it but the shop manual does not. Confused but I will follow your advice and put a zirc in there.

A picture of what you have now would be helpful to us on here.

The plastic hose and cap is the more curious aspect.
Edit: Found the image on Babbits, parts 14-18

Note that there are TWO grease fittings, part 2, and part 14

Thanks, I was not sure by the Babbitts diagram that # 14 was a grease fitting. Mine has a brass tapered fitting in it. REALLY APPRECIATE THE HELP
