Got my pump back from Skat Trak today

Very high quality work. Had .004-.008" minimum to maxiumum impeller to wear ring clearance all the way around after installing the impeller. Going to start with the 82 mm reduction ring and see what happens. We'll see if it was $700 well spent tomorrow.

Looks great! By the way 82 mm is the stock size.

green hulk, are you sure 82mm is the stock size? Glenn told me 83mm was stock and that he would be making some 83mm rings soon.

hmmmm, its hard to say without using a set of calipers. Judging by my ruler its between 82-83 mm

I think you will find your best results with the 81 mm nozzle though

Thanks for checking. I'll pull the 82 and put in the 81mm. I think I was at the rev limiter anyway @ 8450. I can afford to lose some rpm.

I got my calipers out, and I will confirm that the beer bottle is regulation size.

Mark, that realy looks nice, My clearence is .014 with the feeler gauge. Make sure Mark you put the two o-rings inside the pump cone, in those groves, I kept getting water in and couldn't figure what the heck was going on. I forgot to put the oo-rings on the cone for a good seal.

Check your rpms, if your down you might have to take your pump back off on check the wear ring for burn marks. I posted some pictures in the other thread. We lost a ton of rpms and speed with a slight burn mark. On your venturi rings, stock is 82mm, thats what I'm running for high rpms, 81mm for lower rpms but more speed. Other than that my ski is running strong. Good luck and keep us posted.

Tested the mods today. I have a 14/18.5 prop and with the new rebuilt pump and 81mm ring I went from 8450 rpm @ 74.8 mph to 8300 rpm @ 75.1 mph. Temperature and water conditions were the same as when I got the first numbers. Pump looks good, all the set screws are in place but still have just a bit of slip out of the hole for the first second or so. Will try the 82 mm and see what happens. On a side note, I can confirm the 3M 4200 will not hold up in the ride plate holes or anywhere else on the bottom of the hull. Finally got 10 hours on the ski today. Time for an oil change and a torque check on the clutch.
