Single bar vs. Double bar intake grates...
What are the advantages vs. disadvantages of these types of grates. I'm looking to get one and am unsure what way to go. I ride in light to moderate chop with the occasional ride in the Ocean. I was looking at the R&D intakes grates too if that helps.

I personally would get the double bar one. There's a member that did back-to-back tests on both the single and double bar and found no speed advantages.

Why would you get the double as opposed to the single? Any reasons in particular. I did see a link on where teh R&D single shattered and messed up the hole pump assembly on a ski.

Either way that's why I got the double grate one.

The double bar grates are the ones that Razzbo, fullboogie, Fercho, etc have had cracks. The reason to run the double bar has to do with speed - it's faster.

austin has a 03 1300r and he had both on there in the same day the single bar gave him more speed then the double bar

So is the single bar faster?? I still use double because i thought it would be stronger. What are the rest of you guys using?

I personally have NO experience with the single bar grates...its my understanding they are more for CC racing...
I would have thought Mark would have spoken up by now on this subject.
