steve, as we discussed on the phone i am still baffled at how your prop got loose out of the pump.
Did you install prop or is this first time with pump out. If not ever removed seems as if was loose from factory.
I would think this is why your carbon ring went.
Looks like your pump shoe fins are worn a little as i guess the prop was rubbing up against fins.
I think your water issue problem last week was this and not what you thought.
I am heading to shop to pull sc and something else to see if i can figure out my labor day issue. My ski has been problem free 100'% but hit 40 hours and appears sc is slipping. With that being said my RUDE held up better then the X charger. Well see.

dealer installed the prop.....
how do you fix the crack??

I would think the only way to fix might be to replace pump shoe.
can you post more pics.
I would definitely record your findings and definitley try to put this on the dealer. I am going to say this happened because your prop was loose and once prop came completely loose from pump it then caused the carnage.
I dont think that is fixable as there is too much pressure in the tunnel.
sorry, as i am sure that is not what you wanted to hear.

I dont see how the drive shaft would have done that damage in pump.
But that is the reason you carbon seal wore is when the prop backed of prop and gave vibration to shaft.
Hasnt there been some issues lately with X tunnel cracking?
I am thinking that your original issue last week with water ingestion was actually the pump tunnel had crack and that was your problem. Now why did the prop back itself off the pump shaft i am stumped.
This is really confusing.
Any imput with others with issues would be good.

steve, how did you know the carbon ring was worn, mine is pouring water out of that area, when i checked mine today & found i can physically move the carbon ring around the drive shaft in all directions about 6mm, is this normal & does the carbon ring simply push against the support ring when riding to create a seal or could this be my problem !

First off I would be taking the mods off and putting this thing back to stock and taking the ski str8 to the dealer for warranty issues. This looks exspensive, I would let seadoo pay for it.

I have talked to steve (sps) and his ski is going back to the dealer, and i am sure they will fix it with no problem. His mods that he has should not affect any claim at all.
But just fixxing it does not satisfy me, I want to know why these few pump tunnels are cracking.

Not sure why some of these carbon rings are wearing so fast, or why some tunnels are cracking.
I think in SPS case the tunnel cracked first and then since prop backed off shaft then with shaft bouncing arround it wore carbon ring.
Very confusing to what caused what.
