    What's around the corner?

    Ok, so we have our BB's, reeds, pumps, and epoxied bolt holes. What's next on the horizon? I'm staring at my ski in the garage wondering what to do next to coax another .5 or 1 mph out of it.

    For me, last year was all engine and this year was all "hull". Do we go back to the engine now? Extrude hone the pipe/cylinders? More compression? New carbs?

    Or do we look at the hull more? We've got these things sanded/filled/smoothed, and the new pump, so what's next?

    Just getting bored and looking for something to do. I'd like to kick some ideas around on this thread.

    In your case I would go for some aftermarket carbs...

    I do have a 1300 "experimental" mod up my sleeve tho...

    Yes, I think the engine deserves a little more attention. Extrude-honing the pipe will be very expensive, but WILL yield minor gains. I think you're to the point where the cost per MPH is going up exponentially. Did Lowell already port-match your exhaust manifold? Your other option is to go for weight savings like a carbon seat and hood.

    I don't know why but I keep seeing the word "stroker" in my dreams.

    GP1800r or GP2000r a possibility ??
    A long stroke would be ideal for making torque but would the cases need some bracing ??

    I know that I have more questions than answers but I also wonder who is playing with that idea in their heads ??

    exactly what i was thinking - same stroke but with 4 cylinders - now that would be sick!!

    That would be something else.
    However, one would have to cast new cases, work out a firing order that wouldn't destroy the longer crank, redesign the exhaust, MSD ignition, play with weight distribution,...........

    I think a stroker would be the quicker to make option but I hope someone(hint, hint Mr Yamaha) can prove me wrong.

    4 cylinder: repress the journals at 60degs
    Billet cases
    New flywheel pickups.
    Another secondary ignition coil/wire.
    Primary ignition?? Maybe 2 ignitions or some outside help?
    Shorter intermeddiate shaft
    Another carb
    Exhaust manifold redo.
    Pipe needs retuning.

    How much money you got???

    Twin 800s (with BB packages) should do the trick!
