787 RFI Question - How Smooth an Idle

This is probably a really dumb question, but how smooth should a 787 RFI idle? I used to have a 951 and it would clammer and rattle, is the 787 RFI the same - or should I expect a relatively smooth idle?

its a two cylinder two stroke, its gonna idle funky it won't have a "smooth" idle nature as a 4 stroke. But, using an aftermarket digital tach, the RPMs should be within 50-80 rpm while idling on a trailer and even smoother in the water while under a load

what model. The RFI in a 3D idles on one cylinder for emissions. I allways felt the RFI idled smooth but the real test is in the water.it should idle smooth

It is in a 3d. So, idleing on one cylinder would certainly make it rough - right?

You should say those things up front.. The 3D is a whole different animal. And yes it should idle rough and smooth out as you increase speed. Ignore the way it runs on the trailer. The load in the water makes a big difference Guess. I should read what everyone puts at the bottom
