    Spring Washers no longer available???

After this weekend, my SC has started to slip again. I already have 2 shims in place. WELL, I found out something very interesting from the local dealer...

As of NOW, you can no longer buy Spring Washers individually from BRP. You MUST buy a 08' rebuild kit ...Instead of a $30 repair, I now must spend $400

If you have a GreenWHeel, S3, RUDE, B-kit, or any other setup...you can't rebuild/replace the washers and reshim, you MUST upgrade...

And what about you guys that HAVE 08's, and want to drop in a new GreenWheel, or something else, and need to put in new washers to get the slip up to spec...SORRY!

Pardon my French, but THAT IS COMPLETE BULL***T!

BRP, if you are reading this, this is NOT A GOOD MOVE!!!!

    What say you?

And you are now required to replace that sucker every 100 hours too, I pointed this out months ago. Why can't you get the spring washers from someone else?

I have checked several dealers, and they are ALL OUT! Not only that, I have to replace my gear and clutches as they are worn too much

I agree Danny that is a sorry thing for BRP to do. So are the new '08 style spring washers not available without buying the whole rebuild kit ?

They are not individually any more...

The 08 spring washers are thicker, and the shaft is longer, which is what they want you to upgrade too...But what if you have an 08 and need just the washers??????

The 08 washers would work on our current stuff, they you would probably never need a shim!!!

    Well that is just great

I checked the BRP site, they do not have part numbers listed now for the '07 or '08 spring washers, L ring etc. I guess that is one way to force everyone to buy the newest rebuild kits.

You can get all the belleville (spring washer) you want from McMasters- Carr in high carbon , stainless or inconel for half the price. We at Noble Racing use the stainless and have'nt had to change washer in a full season of racing. Stainless #96475k278 pkg of 6--$9.76. They will with stand 900 degree's before they loose any strength or loose tension. Hope this helps.
