You can have water issues with both set-ups... depending on where you mount the hose or filter with a 4" set-up your better off going that route & a lot less money than the riva power filter deal!!!

I can't speak for anyone else but I bought the $240 riva and got no performance gain whatsoever, no rpm gain, nothing. I just finished my 4'' setup but have not tested yet but any gain will be better than the riva setup.

Buy 7' of kanaflex and and run the filter all the way up to the battery. Probably the driest area of the bike.

My filter is mounted high above the fuel tank just under the handle bar mount. Get 9-10ft. of hose to be safe... I started with a 9ft. section, cut it down a few times for a good fit

I think you might be alone there... I put the riva intake on, and it really picked up the acceleration, and you can really hear the s/c working now, which is worth the money in itself to me

4 inch will feed the sc better if you go above a stock blade.
this is a few pics of a 4 inch we make for the locals. sorry pics are not to good. gains from 150 to 250 rpm depending on sc. this baby is high and dry. the filter was just a test one while we waited for our marine ones to arrive. you can make your own quite simple (just don`t copy mine )
