    Lookin at gettin a Honda

I'm lookin for some input on honda skis. Right now I'm lookin at any honda I can get. What do I need to look out for / what do I want. I'd prefer a 3 seater, but as I said, any honda will do. Right now I have a 00 polaris slx 1200, and its great perfromance wise for me (tops out around 63), but I cannot put up with its reliability issues any more. I dont want anything thats going to be slow, but from what i've seen, none of the honda ski's are really slow...

Are there any years/ models to look out for on the hondas? Any years better than others? Any turbo issues etc.....

I have 2 05's and I like them, they do like 60 out of the box on gps but with a couple mods maybe 65, I am very happy with mines.....

Look on Craigs list or e-Bay you can find them for cheap, or go to your Honda dealer and buy a new left over.

Turbo lag is fine, i dont really care about that. I want 60mph, and low end, with as much reliability as i can get.

Im find with doing preventative maintenance, i can change the oil and filter every 40 hours or so, change the plugs once or twice a season, lube the wastegate linkage... But i want to have zero problems otherwise.

So, what do i get? Any Honda Ski ever made? My target price is about $3k, so im looking at 02, 03's.... Unless i have a reason to not.

From what I've read the 2002 is different from all the other years. Can't remember what the difference was. Only difference in the 2003 thru 2007 is the colors. I have the 2005 R12X and the 2006 F12X, love both skis. If your gonna ride chics get the 3 seater, if your always alone you might get the 2 seater. 2 seater = 1 seater and 3 seater = 2 seater in the real world. Good luck on your choice and enjoy the reliability, it's a Honda!

Most importantly honda's sip gas! Riding around/at below 50 you aren't sucking more than 7 gallons an hour...

Mine has been trouble free for 98 hrs (bought a left over 05 last year).

I love the way the R-12x handles, but as some have said if you'll be doing a bunch of double up riding or ride on a big lake go with the 3 seater. Check Ebay, there are some great deals on brand new left over skis.
