    4' intake

I put a 4" front intake on my rxtx & saw no differents except more noise. rpm 8060, 70.8 mph before & after. A lot of people on the forum said they were gaining 150 rpm & had to bend thier prop. Does anyone know why. Thanks Flav

Do you mind showing us some pics of this intake.....as well where are you located....Cause Once you get rid of the factory intake system, hell just about anything else you put on there will make it bump up in RPM's as well as noise.....Give us a little more info on your boat, location, any mods you have and pics......

160 degree thermostat, modified stock grate, ride plate holes filled. kanflex hose with a big filter is what I used like I have seen on this site. My wife & I both have rxtx. Hers is stock except for R&D grate. Both rxtx are the same speed. I need to beat her. She is about 60 lbs lighter than I am. We live in southern Mi. Thanks Flav

What was your throttle position before/after the mod?

Did you remove any of the OEM plastic tubes that feed the hull with air?

What about the resonator? It is restrictive. More air in but same exhaust out. When I did mine I removed the resonator too and did get 150-200 rpms...

My father's RXT-X would scream to 7700's, then CREEP to 7900's, never saw 8000, only once....and that was at WOT, throttle PINNED...

After putting in the 4", R&D adapter, removing the manifold falme arrestor, and installing a Riva grate...throttle position was a tad over 1/2 and we were at 8000...have never seen more than 8060m but thats because anythign higher the ECU would cut fuel and power....After a repitch of the OEM prop +mm out, all was good at 8000....still floating above as the weather cools off...

I think the rxpx cuts power after 8000rpm, not 8100 like the rxp. So you may not be seeing the rpm gain because you are spinning too much rpm as it is. Try tweeking the prop to bring the rpm down to 8000 and I would bet you pick up speed.
