    94 Polaris SLT 750

Howdy I just bought a 94 750 Polaris with a siezed motor. Got it home tonight and the PTO piston is burnt. Center looks OK. Mag isn't melted, but there is rust down the bore, so water got in. My guess is overheating that caused the head gaskets to leak?? I've read a bit and it sounds like cooling and fuel delivery are the two weak spots for this motor. I'll go through the cooling system. It also still has the stock fuel pump, which I will upgrade.

Take a look at the pics and let me know what you think I'm going to pull the motor and go through it. I'd love any suggestions for modifications to make it more bulletproof.

I'm a 94 SLT owner myself. I'm in the process of installing the triple outlet pump, fuel line, fuel filter, primer, pissers, and boarding step (for the wife). Fixed the MFD (Fuse). Bought a bunch of spare parts from folks on this forum, extra fuses from Radio Shack, extra plugs and misc service tools and supplies in hopes of keeping it on the water.

My wife doesn't care to fish or swim or much else on the lake but she loves a PWC. I'm hoping with these changes the craft will be bulletproof enough to keep her on the lake

We are going out to the lake this weekend to tune it in with the new fuel pump, line, and filter. Last year when we had it out you could feel it starve for fuel at WOT so we had to run it at part throttle. We were still able to pull a tuber with two people on the ski but I am looking forward to seeing how runs under full power.

    Roh-oh! This is getting expensive

At least two pots, two pistons, one head, and one connecting rod. I was hoping not to have to touch the crank, but it's all going to have to come apart now....

There's a 750 engine on Ebay. It will be cheaper than a rebuild of that size.

Do you have the link or auction number? I did a search and don't see any complete engines???

What the heck, I went right into the ebay motors / PWC / engine and impellers and searched for Polaris. None of those came up.....

    Thanks for the help!
