Loose wear ring
Hello to all
I'm having a problem with my wear ring. the screws that hold the wear ring are coming off and causing the wear ring to rotate about 1" each direction and its eating up my wear ring pretty bad, from what I understand and I'm been told is that the pump on my 2007 GTX 155HP is made out of plastic and its flexing causing the problems that I'm having, has anyone heard of this problem before .... I have a few questions
What should I do about this, the ski still under warranty
Will this cause any long term damage to the ski, engine, PROP .. etc
The dealer replaced my wear ring last week and its happened with in 4 hrs of use ?????
All comments/advice is welcome
Thank you in advance.

take it back! i have never seen screws in wear rings of later model skis i hoe they are using genuine wear rings ais it a white nylon ring? I would demand a new pump as the only other option is gluing the ring in but that makes replacement a mission later on.

thank you for your reply jasonze, They replaced the wear ring and glued it to the pump, I put about 4 to 5 hrs on it and I can see the wear ring has new marks on it, this is a 2007 GTX 155HP, non sc
I was told that the 155hp pumps are plastic and the 185hp and up sc models have the aluminum pumps, i'm sure this plays a factor on my problem, will the propeller have any damage from digging into the wear ring ???
Any advice is greatly appriciated

My '03 plastic pump was replaced under extended warranty with an alluminum pump. Look at sea-doo.net and call PPG for some assistance. My local dealer didn't want to handle the warranty claim. For the $50 deductable, you should be able to get the pump and wear ring replaced as long as the wear is worn 180 degrees apart... Ron
