If I recall, my RXT-X does not have an actual air filter, but some sort of cover over the air baffle box. I believe some racers don't run any type of air filter. I use the Spectre Stainless steel air filter on my Kanaflex 4".

I dont run one on my T-X front air intake. I have about 20 hours on it like that and no problems. I will say that the sc makes a butt load of suction so you have to be sure all things in hull are secured down. Also you dont wany any pieces of styrafoam, metal, plastic, tools, zip ties or what ever, or it will be sucked into super charger and wont be good.

Here is my 4 inch carbon fiber setup.

Stock skis dont have an air filter, I aggree that you need to run with some sort of a screen to stop large particles from entering the intake. I have got a 4 inch front and I just run a fine stainless gauze at the end of my intake. stops anything large enough to cause damage with zero restriction and zero problems. If i were you I would not run that alluminium vent pipe. it will most likely collaps under the suction of the SC. What size is that pipe? You want to be running 102mm with the X ski, that SC can suck some air!!! R88
