    Top end rebuild 98 gp 1200

    hi guys im rebuilding my top end on my engine and i noticed that the cilinder block has some gunk , dont think its rust , where the water runs to cool the engine , what can i do or use to clean it before i put it back together ??

    If it is mineral deposits, I use Lime away on them.

    On mine im in the process of putting back together, I put the whole cylinder block in a big bucket of soapy water and spun them around in there. Then i made sure i cleaned the soap off really well with a hose. Then make sure you coat your cylinders in oil after if you use water to prevent the cylinder walls from rusting. I used foggin oil for this.
