Testing Novis vs. OEM carbs.....
If weather permits this Saturday I plan to test the OEM carbs Ive been running for the past 3 seasons against a set of 48mm Novis.
The test will be conducted with a 2000GPR Lowell 1390 Triple. It has FF plate,800 grate, VF3's, Advent, Ho pump with 2 inch extension, DF screw, with pinned PVs....
Not sure what the gains will be but I expect some topend rpms. I feel like the carbs will "hit" harder in the midrange but my real concern is top speed.
I am lucky enough to have a good friend that was willing to send me the carbs to test. Thanks....
Anyone have a guess on what the results will be????

I gained over 1 mph on top(120 rpm) going from OEM carbs to Novi's.The mid range hit with Novi's are great! Novi's will really improve the overall performance, you will be happy.

Phil is right,Novi's have a weaker signal compared to BlackJacks...What is the current jetting? Lowell's motors like alot of fuel.

I wonder what the differences in signal strength are between the OEM and Novis???
I know your at high elevation but how much jetting differences did you have between fully dialed in OEM's and Novis?

With my old Lowell ported 1390
I ran 135 pilots with 180 mains i learnt the hard way Lowell engines love big jets.
Listen to Lowell with specs
Joes is little different its a 1300 and triple.

Not very happy with the install so far. Everything is backwards and those bottom bolts are just plain stupid. I have spent exactly one hour trying to thighten those bottom bolts. I have bent wrenches and bought wrenches and have never seen anything so stupid in all my days of wrenching...
The guy I borrowed them from was always complaining about how hard the bolts were to get to. Now I understand, they had better rock this boat. Jet changes will be a nightmare.....
