    fuel gauge sender??

Hi, I have a 94 SLT 750 and fuel read no longer works. Pulled sending unit from tank and didnt look too bad. Key word here is "look", as in I wouldnt know how to check it any ways. Any one know how to check, or where to get a new one. Or should I not bother. Thanks for any help.

Put an ohm meter on the leads. Should read 33 ohms when full or 240 ohms when empty.

If you have the "silver tube" style, the internal float may have gotten gas logged and is sinking even though it's full. You can remove the small nut from the bottom of the sender and remove the float. Put it into a cup of gas and see if it floats.

If the float is bad, you can buy a new one from Randy at watcon.com for $26.

What fuel reading are you getting?

Is this a digital MFD display gauge or an analog meter with pointer?

Check the ohms readings on the sender, that will tell you whether the sender is bad, the float is bad, or the problem is something else.

    Thanks

It has a digital read with mfd. It currently reads nothing. Float seems ok.

The float will look fine. You need to put it in a cup of gas to test if it will actually float.99% of the time the the fuel guage does not work, the float will not float.Water will not due,it needs to be in gas.

    Nope, not yet.

I haven't done anything yet. I will be working on it either this week or this weekend and will post results. Been tackling issues with other craft and home, not to mention sick for almost 3 damn weeks now. I barely ever get sick. SUX!! Thanks for the interest, and will post soon.

Hey Rod, I spoke with Robert aka LA90043, and he said he met you at Pyramid Lake. He also said you had issues with your ski. What was the the problem? Is it on this ski w/ the float/ sender issue?
Robert and I were neighbors in Havasu. Cool guy isn't he? He said you rode his ride too.
